Water-cycle symposium at Rusutsu Resort, Hokkaido
Kamori Kanko Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Hisatake Kamori), the NPO Japan Geological Pollution Assessment Organization (Chair: Hiroshi Takashima), amenowa Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Asahi Iwanaga) and Rusutsu Resort Tech Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Shintaro Hirato) will hold a water-cycle symposium at Rusutsu Resort, Hokkaido, on Sunday, September 22 and Monday, September 23, 2024, under the theme “Let’s commit to making small changes for a water tomorrow.”
As water scarcity becomes more serious worldwide, the symposium will provide an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of water resources in Japan and consider the role of local communities. Businesses, local governments and specialists will gather in Rusutsu Village, Hokkaido, to discuss practical ways of advancing sustainable water conservation while balancing economic development with nature.
Background
Water has long sustained our lives and shaped our history and culture. Today, climate change and other pressures make environmental protection more important than ever. Using the water resources of Rusutsu Village as a focus, the symposium aims to take a new step toward a sustainable society. Industry, government, academia and residents will exchange perspectives on conserving water resources and creating a healthy environment more than a century into the future.
